On Her Being Two (years old)
It is STILL surreal, being a dad even after two years! I suppose it will keep on being surreal even as Carly enters grammar school, graduates high school, college, etc. I still thank God daily for blessing me with my wonderful daughter. She is now writing and singing her own songs and she continues to fully explore the English language. She counts to 70 (with a few hiccups) and is starting to read! That is, she sounds out the letters of the words, but doesn't quite formulate the word yet. She is SO trying to understand how.
Her will is in FULL effect, and she exercises it to absolutes daily. This means that during the past two months, tantrums have sprung up here or there, but nothing too terrible for the Terrible Twos.
Carly has been completely conversational (extremely complex sentences) since about the time she turned two in May. SHE corrects MY grammar! And she is now a perfect mimic. She recites the lines from her favorite books and videos perfectly while expecting us to play the other characters. On and on... I think my daughter is truly amazing - a blessing for whom I'm so very thankful.
