Imagining things.....
This morning while Carly was eating her breakfast, I noticed her studying a small chunk of toast on her plate. After a minute or two, a big smile spread across her face and she said, "Look Mommy, there's a rhinocerous on my plate!" I told her that I didn't see a rhinocerous or any other animal on her plate, to which she responded, "Right there Mommy, right THERE" and pointed to the toast. I picked it up and sure enough, it did look like the outline of a rhino's head. "Oh, yes Honey, now I see it," I said. Carly grabbed the toast, took a bite and said,"Not any more! Now it's a boat!" And it was.
This little two-year-old is developing her imagination at the speed of light. For quite some time now Carly has been an abstract thinker who comes up with things that simply blow my mind. Lately while we're driving in the car, she'll open her toy cellphone and call someone. The one-sided conversations she has are a hoot. Here is a transcript of one of her calls. "Hewwo? Is this Auntie Kimmy? Hi this is Carly. Hey. How are you doing today? I'm fine. I'm riding in the truck with Mommy. Yes. I went to Build a Bear and Chuckie Cheese. For my birthday. Yes. I made a pink cat. Okay. Bye bye!" It was like she was really talking to Kim. Funny kid.

Seeing a rhino on her toast? God, she is getting so big.... and she is already talking on a toy mobile? Ye-gads, you are going to have to run to keep up with this little one. Give her a big cuddle from Nannawee, will you? xoxo Funny you should mention Meet the Robinsons - I thought @ seeing that a week ago or so.. Love you all,
