The winds of change.....
Wow, a lot has happened in the last few months. We moved half way across the country right before Christmas. Carly has started school, Sean started a new job, I got a promotion (hence the move), and we're in the process of buying our first home. Through it all, our Pumpkin has been a trooper. I think she misses her old home, her friends, and her stomping grounds some times, but she's always loved to discover new things. The changes have been exciting for her.
Speaking of changes, Carly is morphing from a butterfly to an even more beautiful butterfly by the day. She never ceases to astound me with how bright and how very aware of her world she is. Nothing gets by this kid. From early in her infanthood, she was never quite "baby like." She always seemed to be so intuned to every one and every thing. She didn't even cry like other babies I've heard. Sean and I just recently put our finger on that one. Carly has had her voice from the beginning. The same lovely sweet little voice she has now at two was the one she had at two days. Her cries were more like negotiations, and her coos conversations. Now she uses her voice to sing and laugh and talk. But it is the same voice. The one that asks, "Mommy may I please have a story about an orangutan named Wilbur?" and "Let's say blessing before dinner." And most importantly, "I love you Mommy."
Ahh, the winds of change. How sweet they are. But I hope that some things remain the same, just for a little while.
